Lacour Mody Ayompe

PhD researcher


Lacour Ayompe is a PhD research student in the Department of Civil and
Building Services at Dublin Institute of Technology. He is involved in the
Energy Policy Research in Domestic Buildings Project and his research is
based on Domestic Energy Balance Modelling and Validation. His current areas of interest are: Energy Policy Modeling, Engineering Economic Analysis and Renewable Energy Technologies.

Lacour graduated from Dublin City University in 2007 with an MSc. (honours)
in Computer Aided Mechanical and Manufacturing Technology. He also holds a masters in engineering degree (M.Engr., honours) in Energy and Power
Technology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka obtained in 1998. In 1995,
Lacour obtained a bachelor of engineering (B.Engr., honours) degree in
Mechanical Engineering in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Upon graduation in 1995, he worked as a Research Assistant/Graduate Assistant at the National Centre for Energy Research and Development. He was also active in academic activities in the Department of Mechanical Engineering University of Nigeria, Nsukka until 1999. Between 2000 - 2006 he assisted physically disabled and other disadvantaged people in rural of Cameroon in Capacity building within the Information Technology domain through an NGO he setup. His contribution in this domain earned him a Presidential award. In 2002, he setup an engineering consulting company which he headed as the managing director until 2006 when he travelled to Ireland.
