Martin Brosnan
Martin Brosnan in a MPhil researcher in the Dublin Energy Lab and is based in DIT Kevin Street. Under the supervision of Dr. Mick McKeever, Martin's MPhil research is to design an energy based controller for an active solar collector. The aims are to :
- Build a flat-plate Solar Collector Experimental Process RIG, complete with a large range of temperature sensors and fluid control instruments.
- Design a simulation model of a solar collector system using Matlab and Comsol Multiphysics (CFD). (Model Stage)
- Use the model to analyse and improve the performance of the system by implementing an energy-based control system. (Validation & Testing of control Strategies)
Martin graduated from DIT Bolton Street in 2000 with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. Martin then worked as an Engineer in the construction sector for a contracting company (L.Lynch & Co.) followed by a consultancy company (Homan O'Brien Associates). He has completed a HDip in Project Management in TCD and is also a practicing BER Assessor.
