Dr Jane Courtney

Dr Jane Courtney's research and teaching interests include computer vision and image processing, biomedical engineering and power systems engineering. In 2004, she taught on the intervarsity MSc in biomedical engineering. She has been a member of several programme committees including the Medical Imaging and Telemedicine conference (MIT) held in FuJian, China, in August 2005, the International Machine Vision and Image Processing conference (IMVIP) in 2006, 2007 and 2011 and the Ninth International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering held in Prague in May 2010. She was also a reviewer for the European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design (ECCTD) held in August 2005 and is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Biomechanics and the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation & Measurement. She was on the local organising committee for the 48th International Universities' Power Engineering Conference (UPEC) held in September 2013. She is part of the Health Engineering and Rehabilitation Team (HEaRT) and People Oriented Technology (TeaPOT) research groups in DIT and an adjunct member of the Vision Systems Group, DCU. She is currently collaborating with UCD's Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases, The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA), Trinity College Dublin and the Dept. of Clinical Medicine, St. James's Hospital, Dublin. Her reserach pulications on DIT Arrow can be viewed here.
