How to get to Grangegorman
The DIT campus at Grangegorman is located in the heart of Dublin and is just 1km from O’Connell Street. Its close neighbours include Smithfield to the south; Stoneybatter to the west; Broadstone to the east; and Phibsboro and the North Circular Road to the North.
As it’s so central, the Grangegorman campus is very accessible on foot, by bike, by Luas and by various bus routes.
Work has started on the new Cross-City Luas line, which will stop right on campus at Broadstone Gate from 2017.
For students and staff located in Grangegorman from September 2014, the Red Luas Line stops at Smithfield, just a 10-minute walk from the campus.
Grangegorman is well served by Dublin Bus routes – some of which will drop you at an entrance to Grangegorman while other routes are just a short walk away. Several coach routes also serve Grangegorman.
Bicycle parking facilities are available at Grangegorman. Lockers, showers and changing facilities will be available on the campus to encourage cycling commuters.
DublinBikes has a number of bike stations in the vicinity – including Blessington Street, King Street in Smithfield and Parnell Street.
Only a very restricted number of car parking spaces will be made available within the Grangegorman campus – the focus is on linking in with integrated public transport and environmentally friendly options such as walking and cycling.
If you do come to the campus by car, please note that paid on-street car parking is available in the surrounding area while the nearest public car park is ParkRite on Queen Street. (The current rate is €7 per day with a current DIT staff or student card - pay at the office before 5.30 pm.)
