The tourism programmes at DIT's School of Hospitality Management and Tourism are a great start for those wishing to pursue a career in the vibrant, worldwide, travel and tourism industry.  The programmes offer a mix of academic and practical experience to equip students to enter this exciting, varied and people-driven sector.

Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries worldwide and it is forecasted as one of the fastest growing global sectors.  It is Ireland’s largest indigenous industry.  Fáilte Ireland predicted that an additional 8000 new jobs will be created in the industry in 2014.  It is therefore anticipated that there will be increasing demand for skilled graduates in this area, both at home and abroad.
