Higher Certificate in Hospitality Management (part-time)

This programme offers a challenging opportunity for those who wish to pursue a career at supervisory or managerial level in the hotel, restaurant and general hospitality services sector.

It provides graduates with the necessary education and skills to effectively manage and supervise diverse hospitality operations.

It is aimed at complementing the practical experience gained by individuals working in the industry with an academic focus in college.

The programme is offered in conjunction with the Irish Hospitality Institute (IHI), a professional body representing the interests, careers and needs of hospitality managers.  Students automatically become members and have access to a range of benefits including valuable contacts within the industry.

  • Management and supervisory opportunities can be found within a growing sector in areas such as hotels, restaurants, cafés, cruise & airline catering, industry or corporate catering and tourism operations.
  • Setup, improve or expand a hospitality or tourism business.
  • Diversify into other work areas within the hospitality and tourism sector.
  • Successful completion of this course will allow students to progress to the final year of the Ordinary Degree, the BA in Hospitality Management (part-time, DT460E OR full-time DT408).
