Career advancement to management positions within the hospitality industry.

Setup, improve or expand a hospitality business.

Candidates can choose from a range of opportunities within the hospitality sector worldwide including sales & marketing, human resources, food & beverage, conferences & events, front office & accommodation in hotels, restaurants, and resorts and catering operations.

Successful completion of this course will allow students to progress to the final year of the Honours Degree, the BSc in Hospitality Management (DT408A).

After completion of the Honours Degree, students can progress to a variety of postgraduate programmes in a range of disciplines.

Successful completion of this course will allow students to progress to the final year of the B.A degree in Hospitality Management at any stage. Students can achieve this award through one additional year of study either part-time (DT460E) or full-time (DT408).

Further studies are also available at this stage for students to achieve honours (DT401) and Masters degrees in Hospitality Management full time (DT9435) or part-time (DT9477)

The DT458 programme has strong connections with key companies and organisations in the sector. The programme is offered in association with the Irish Hospitality Industry (IHI) a professional body representing the interests, careers and needs of hospitality managers.   

Here are some of ways the programme engages with industry:

  • Students on the programme work in the industry and become valuable contacts for the future.
  • Students have automatic membership of the IHI.  
  • Students have access to a range of benefits and industry contacts offered through their membership of the IHI.
