Colin O’Connor is a lecturer in strategic management and Programme Manager for the B.Sc. in International Hospitality Management programme at the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Colin is an M.B.S. graduate from Dublin City University, holds a B.Sc. in Mgmt. from the University of Dublin and is a graduate of Hospitality Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology. Colin also holds a M.A. in Third Level Learning and Teaching.
Colin is actively involved in the international hospitality industry and participates in European research projects. He has also delivered modules in strategy and management at Tsinghua University Beijing, in International business management at Helia in Finland and in Sustainable development and Tourism at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
Before joining DIT, Colin served as a management consultant specialising in Hospitality and Tourism with BDO Simpson Xavier Consulting. Colin has also held a number of professional positions in the Hospitality Industry, namely Starwood Hotels and Resorts in the U.S., as well as a number of leading Irish hotels.
Colin currently serves as an external examiner to the Irish Bankers Institute and Liverpool John Moors University.
Colin is the author of the book on Strategic Hospitality management “Hospitality Management A Strategic Approach”.
