Ralf Burbach, Head of Department, Department of Hospitality Management

Dr Burbach is the Assistant Head of School of Hospitality Management and Tourism.  He joined DIT in June 2011 from Wexford Campus, Institute of Technology Carlow, where he occupied the position of Campus Coordinator.  Dr Burbach has lectured in a number of Higher Education Institutes in the Republic of Ireland (Institute of Technology Carlow, National University of Ireland, Galway, Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology) predominantly in the areas of Strategic Human Resource Management, Management of Organisational Change and Industrial Relations.  Prior to his acadmic career, Dr Burbach worked for thirteen years in the hospitality industry and held managerial posts in Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland.  His research interestests include International and Comparative Human Resource Management, micro-political exchange relationships in multinational corporations, Electronic-HRM, Human Resource Information Systems, Talent Management and HR Metrics.
