Important Information for Students

required to undertake Supplemental (Repeat) Assessments

You will receive your results either

a)    using the online DIT Self Service system and / or

b)    as a transcript of results in the post

If a module has a comment ‘Repeat all Components Less than 40’ that means that you have not passed the module and that you will be required to complete some or all of the components of the module. You should log in to the DIT Self Service system to find out which components you must repeat.  Please contact the exams office in Cathal Brugha Street if you are unable to access the DIT Self Service System.

Where a module has the comment ‘Repeat all components less that 40’ click on the Blue CRN Number, e.g. 10503, for that module and you will see the details of what components are less than 40.  If there is an exam grade less than 40 you will be required to resit the examination and the timetable will be sent to you by email from the examinations office provided you have entered for the supplemental sessions by submitting the appropriate form and fees to the examinations office.

NB: Repeat Assessment information will be available from 20th June.

If there is an assessment grade less than 40 you should do the following

  1. Open your internet browser.
  2. Go to http://www.dit.ie/lttc/webcourseslinks/
  3. Login to webcourses as normal
  4. Click on the My Modules tab.
  5. 5.      Click on the module 15-16 Supplemental - Repeat Assignments - School of Hospitality Management and Tourism
  6. You will see some instructions and links to folders on the left hand side.
  7. Click on the ‘Module List’ folder.
  8. You should see a listing of all of the School’s modules listed by Module code and title
  9. Scroll down through the list until you see the module you require and click on the module title.
  10. You should now see a table of contents which will have one file/link for each assessment in that module.
  11. Click on the assessment that you are required to complete e.g. If the module has two assessments and you are required to complete Assessment 2 then click on the link for Assessment 2 – this will download a Microsoft Word file which will specify what you are required to do in order to successfully fulfil  the requirements of that component.
  12. Please ensure that you have the correct assessment specification by opening the downloaded file and checking the specification matches the requirements indicated by the student self-service system.

Repeat this exercise for all components that you are required to complete.

Unless otherwise specified in the assessment specification, assessments must be submitted and signed-in to the School Office by 12:00 Midday Thursday 1st September 2016

All assessments must be accompanied by a completed and signed cover sheet which can be found along with instructions on the Repeat Assignment Blackboard webpage.  Assessments submitted by third parties and / or not in person cannot be accepted.

If you cannot log-in to webcourses, if you can’t find the module listed above among your moudles or if you can’t find an assessment specification for the component you are required to complete, contact the School Office on 01-4024352.
