This is a series of satirical portraits of some of Ireland’s most famous (and infamous) figures.
Whether it is due to the subject's own sense of self-importance or the public's over-inflated view of them, the value placed on celebrities and celebrity culture seems misplaced and amplified, to the point of resembling a form of idolatry.
The destruction of religious or cult images is known as 'iconoclasm', a term I've borrowed for the title of this project.
