Minister for Skills, Research and Innovation Mr Damien English TD will visit the Showcase to view the exhibits and meet the researchers behind the innovations. The five institutions comprise the Dublin Region Innovation Consortium (DRIC) which is funded by Enterprise Ireland to maximise the impact of research in each of the institutions. DIT Hothouse provides knowledge transfer and commercialisation support to all members of the consortium.
The DRIC Innovation Showcase will display and promote the latest research technologies emerging from each institution across the areas of ICT, Engineering, Clean Tech and Food & Life Science. Twenty-six research groups will be exhibiting over 60 new technologies and R&D capabilities, and researchers will be on hand to discuss collaboration, licensing as well as company spin-out opportunities.
Visitors to the Showcase are also invited to attend a number of short talks that will take place in parallel to the exhibition. The talks will address some of the key mechanisms available to fund R&D collaboration, technology development, and campus spin-out company formation. A presentation will also be held to promote postgraduate research opportunities in DIT.
