DIT Inventor Competition 2010
Tom Flanagan, Head of Commercialisation, Hothouse launched the 2010 DIT Inventor Competition together with Dr Chris Horn (co-founder of IONA and member of Innovation Taskforce) at the Be Inspired event. The competition is open to all staff and students across DIT and the prizes worth €2500.
To be in with a chance to win and get your hands on some cash, simply email a description of your invention, answering these three questions to hothouse@dit.ie.

Applicants should make sure that their idea/invention is not already on the market. All entries are treated confidentially and are scored on their originality, benefits, market potential, and development / commercialisation feasibility. The closing date for entries has been extended to 22/10/2010.
The competition is divided into two categories and a Best Overall Invention Award:
- Best Overall Invention Award sponsored by Hanna, Moore & Curley - €1,500
- Best Staff member, Post Grad and Researcher Invention Award – sponsored by DIT Hothouse €500
- Best Undergraduate Student Invention Award – sponsored by DIT Hothouse €500
