EI Industrial Technologies Commercialisation Awards 09
Enterprise Ireland recognised the top ten industrial technologies awards this week at an event in the Carlton Hotel. DIT picked up four awards for licensing technologies to companies. Tom Flanagan, Head of Commercialisation DIT commented that ‘Industrial engineering is a strong part of DIT research and we are delighted to be recognised by the Enterprise Ireland Awards. Licensing technologies such as these to industry contributes to Ireland’s economic development and this is a main focus for DIT Hothouse’. Dennis Jennings CEO of 4th Level Ventures and investor to several startup campus and technology companies presented the awards to the following DIT researchers;

Dr. Max Ammann, Antenna and High Frequency Research Centre (AHFR) for two licences to Taoglas for Antennas for UWB systems.
Dr Max Ammann for the license to DecaWave for Directive Ultra Wideband Antenna.
Michael Whelan, Centre for Research in Engineering Surface Technology (CREST), for the licence of a novel process for sealing Anodised Aluminium for general engineering applications to Graph Engineering Ltd and for the licence to C& F Automotive Ltd for exterior automotive applications.
Dr. Suresh Pillai CREST, for the licence to VitrA of the process of applying functional coatings into ceramics and sanitary ware.
