Requesting the Filling of a Vacancy
In order to request a vacancy to be filled the appropriate policy and procedures as well as the Employment Control Framework June 2011 must be adhered to.
Should you wish to submit a request to fill a vacancy you may do so electronically through your Core Portal account and by accessing ‘My Staff Requisitions’. The request is then sent electronically to the appropriate Director for approval and then submitted to HRC or HRAG for consideration.

Externally Funded Staff
For new Research / Externally Funded Posts please complete a SRF electronically through your Core Portal account and by accessing ‘My Staff Requisitions’. The request is then sent electronically to the appropriate Director for approval and then submitted to HRAG for consideration.

Recruitment
DIT advertises all its vacancies both online and in many cases in the National Press.
Selection
DIT uses comprehensive selection procedures as laid down by the Minister for Education and Science.

Appointment
All proposed Permanent wholetime appointments and many fixed term appointments must go to the DIT Governing Body for approval.
The Governing Body meets on a monthly basis, Governing Body Dates 2017-18
Communications to candidates who have attended for interview will only take place after required Governing Body approval where necessary.

National Vetting Bureau
Candidates who are intended to be employed in an area which will involve contact with children or vulnerable adults, must complete the Vetting Invitation (NVB1) form and authorise the Institute to conduct a background check via the National Vetting Bureau (NVB).

Completed signed forms with a copy of the applicants passport/driving license should be sent to Ms Mary Malone, Head of Human Resources, DIT, 5th Floor, Park House Grangegorman, 191 North Circular Road, Dublin 7, D07 EWV4. An invitation to the e-vetting website will then be sent to your email address.
Students should return their completed forms to Mr Frank Costello, Head of Admissions, DIT 143 to 149 Rathmines Road, Dublin 6.
