VoiceMail

Voicemail facilities are available on any extension which is registered to a member of staff, with the exception of certain administrative functions. If you wish to have voicemail enabled on your extension, please contact the Support Centre.

Voicemail is a "Personalised Answering Service" which is associated with your extension number. Calls to your phone are routed to the voicemail computer which greets callers and takes messages for you.

Voicemail FAQs

How do I change the recorded name on my voicemail box?

Access your voicemail by dialling 3001.

Enter your security code.

Then  press 16.

Then press 1 for personal options.

Then press 5.

Then press 2 record your name, press 2 again.

Press 5 to save.

How do I change my voicemail message?

To change your voicemail dial 3001.

Enter your security code.

Then press 4 - greetings menu.

Then press 6 - standard greeting.

Then press 2 - record your message.

Then press 2  - to start/stop recording.

Then press 5 - save the recording.

Is the voicemail system available in the Irish language?

Yes. Please contact the helpdesk on 402 3123 or email support@dit.ie if you would like to change your voicemail default language to Irish.

My voicemail box if full.  How do I delete messages?

Access your voicemail by dialling 3001.

Enter your security code.

Press 5 - listen to a message.

Press 3 - (while the message is playing) to delete a message.

There is a phone in my department with no voicemail on it. How do I set this up?

Contact the support desk on extension 3123 or email support@dit.ie to get a voicemail box created for the extension.  Once the mailbox is created the message can then be recorded.

How do I access my DIT voicemail from home or outside of DIT?

To access voicemail from a non DIT extension dial 402 3001.

Then press #

Then enter your extension.

Then enter your security code.

What other functions does the voicemail system have?

The DIT Voicemail system...

    • can handle many messages at once..
    • can take messages while your phone is busy..
    • tells you the date and time that a message was left..
    • allows you to manage your voice mailbox remotely..
    • allows you to change your greeting easily..
    • allows you to forward messages with comments..
    • can transfer a call when the caller presses a key..
    • is always there to keep in touch with your callers when you are busy or away from your office.

I forgot my security code. How do I reset it?

Contact the support desk on extension 3123 or email support@dit.ie to get your PIN reset. 

I already know my security code but want to change it. How do I change my security code?

Access your voicemail by dialling 3001.

Enter your security code.

Press 16 - access phone manager.

Press 1 - personal options.

Press 4 - change security code.

Enter new security code followed by # key.

Confirm by entering new code and # key again.

How do I access my voicemail from another DIT extension or while I'm in another DIT building?

Dial 3001.

Then press * then press #

Then enter your extension number

Then enter your security code.
