Student Printing
Installing the Ricoh Printing on Personal Windows Computers
Printing to the Managed Student Printing Service from personal devices is currently available for computers running Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Although printing to the service is available on all the DIT's Wireless Networks, the actual installation of the required drivers and "pop-up" printing port on non-DIT computers is only possible if the devices are first connected to either the wired network, or to the DITLan or EDUROAM wireless networks. This is due to firewall restrictions on the other networks.
Once you have connected to the appropriate network, please click here to download the installation executeable.
You will be prompted to download and run an executeable file. Please click the Run button.

Once the Package Installer has commenced running, please click the Install button.

The Package Installer will download and install the appropriate drivers and pop-up printer port onto your computer. (estimated run time around 1 minute)

Certain Antivirus packages may monitor / log the allocation of RAM used by the Core Task Manager. This is normal behaviour.

The Package Installer will notify you when the installation is complete. Open up your Printers folder and you should see 5 new print queues available to you.

These printers on any network wired or wireless in the DIT. You will be prompted to enter your student number when you send a print to these printers. This enables the service to identify which print jobs are yours so that you may release the prints securely at the printer of your choice throughout the college.
