Removal of on-line services for former DIT students

*** Please note the information displayed here is only relevant if you received an email to your DIT account from student.login@dit.ie on 18th May 2016 ***

Dear DIT Alumni,

If you finished your studies with Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) before September 2015, please note that from 06 June 2016, your DIT email account will be closed.  This will also mean that you will no longer have access to the following services:

  • -  DIT email and online storage (Google Apps)
  • -  Wireless access (Eduroam and DITwifi)
  • -  Webcourses
  • -  Access to student PC labs in DIT campuses

If you have any data that you wish to retain, you should transfer it from your DIT account to your current email account, or other document storage, before 06 June 2016.  You may also wish to save details of your contacts, and to advise your contacts of an alternative email address.

For large volumes of email or data, you can use Google Takeout to create an archive of your data. To use Google Takeout, follow the steps below:

  • 1.  Sign in to your DIT email account at mydit.ie
  • 2.  Click on the Google Apps icon in the top-right corner (3x3 array of black squares)
  • 3.  Select "My Account"
  • 4.  Under the "Personal info & privacy" heading, select "Control your content"
  • 5.  Select "Create archive" and select what data you want to export.
  • 6.  Click "Next" and decide on the format and delivery options for your data.
  • 7.  Select "Create archive"

If you are having difficulty in accessing your DIT email account, you can contact the Support Desk at 01 402 3123 to request a password reset

While your studies in DIT may have finished for now, you can still keep in contact with DIT through our Graduate Network. Please join the network or update your contact details online.  Our Graduate Network LinkedIn group also and provides valuable information for DIT graduates around the world.

Continuing Students:

In the event that you are continuing your studies in DIT, and this has previously been agreed with your School or College, please complete the form below so that ICT Services can confirm your arrangements. This should be completed no later than 29th May 2016 to avoid any disruption to your DIT on-line services.

Thanks for taking the time to read this message and best wishes for the future.
