Publishing in DIT

The information below will be of interest to anyone in DIT who is publishing a printed book or report or other publication.

ISBN Service

The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a number that uniquely identifies a specific title and edition of every book that is published. A publication with an ISBN invariably attracts more attention than one without.

If you require an ISBN for a book you are publishing, please contact the Head of Library Services, Dr Philip Cohen, with the following information:

Author or Editor, Title, and expected date of publication.

Legal Deposit

Legal deposit is a statutory obligation on all publishers to deposit copies of their publications in certain libraries in Ireland and the UK.

For further information, please refer to: http://www.nli.ie/en/how-we-acquire-our-collections.aspx
[especially the PDF document 'Legal Deposit - General Information']

The Library of Trinity College Dublin facilitates Irish publishers and authors depositing their publications with the UK libraries – whereby they will forward copies to most of the UK libraries. Please contact:
