The Managed Print System provides devices for scanning, printing and copying throughout DIT. The system will allow users to print from their own laptops and securely release their prints anywhere in the DIT. Prints are released after the username and PIN are entered into the Print Release Station next to the printer being accessed.
Users can purchase credit at VCA machines in each library to operate the copiers and printers. The machines accept coins and notes and are operated by library ID cards or student/staff numbers. Credit is used each time copies and prints are made. Additional payment options have been introduced including an Internet based solution allowing users to top-up their printing credit from any PC or even their phones.
