Information for DIT Applicants
The scheme is open to DIT staff and research postgraduate students. To be eligible for the scheme you must:
- Be a registered DIT library user and have a DIT library/ID card
- Be considered “in good standing” (have no outstanding debts, have abided by library rules etc)
To join SCONUL ACCESS bring a completed application form to any DIT library. If you are eligible for the scheme, you will receive a SCONUL Access card on the same day. This card will be valid for up to three years, or until your course or contract ends if earlier.
Check the website of the SCONUL Access member library you intend to visit for opening hours and local SCONUL Access arrangements. Take your SCONUL Access card and your DIT library/ID card with you. The SCONUL Access member library will issue you with a local library card, which will have the same expiry date as your SCONUL Access card. Please note that if your DIT library/ID card does not include your photograph, you will be asked to produce additional photograph ID such as a driving licence/passport.
When you visit other SCONUL Access member libraries you will be subject to their regulations. You will be responsible for the care and return of all material borrowed and for any fines you may incur for late return.
Further information on the scheme can be found on the SCONUL Access website.
