Bolton Street library has reference, reserve, journal, thesis, AV and map collections. It also has a main lending collection of books that can be borrowed.

The Reference collection houses many of our larger, more expensive books including encyclopedia, atlases, and handbooks. Items in the reference collection cannot be taken outside the library.

The Reserve Collection is made up of books in high demand, or recommended by lecturers. It also houses lecturer's boxes with articles of interest to particular courses. Items in the reserve collection can only be used in the library and for a period of 3 hours.

Bolton Street's journal collection is very extensive and includes journal articles dating as far back as the 1930's. Journals cannot be taken outside the library.

Our Thesis collection includes the majority of undergraduate and postgraduate theses from the Built Environment and Engineering faculties. All theses are available on a 3 hour loan and cannot be taken outside the library.

Our Audio Visual collection is kept behind the library desk. CDs, DVDs, and Videos can be borrowed from this collection for a period of 7 days.
