Cathal Brugha St Library 2

Cathal Brugha Street Tourism and Food Library has printed book, journal, thesis, AV and main lending collections. Within the main collection we have week loan and 24 hour loan items as well as reference items. See the section on Borrowing for more information on loan periods.

The Journal collection covers all aspects of the tourism, food, and hospitality subject areas with popular titles such as Food and Wine Magazine and Retail News. Older journal issues and some older books are stored off-site, but can be sent for on request.

Our Thesis collection includes the majority of undergraduate and postgraduate theses from the schools of Culinary Arts and Food Technology, Food Science and Environmental Health, and Hospitality Management and Tourism. All theses are for reference in the library only. Further information on how to search for theses is available here.

Our Audio Visual collection includes DVDs on baking, food and drink related movies, food hygiene; videos on customer service, management, and food safety; and language CDs and tapes. Items from this collection can be borrowed for a period of 7 days.

The library has two special collections, the Culinary history collection and the Honor Moore collection, both of which are on gastronomy and food topics.

We also subscribe to numerous ebooks relevant to the three schools. You can browse through these ebooks here. A lot of the titles are also available by searching the Library Catalogue.
