Using your Student Card

Once you register for your course you can get your student card from Student Services

Your card will then take 24 hours to be activated. A library account will then be created automatically for you.

Your student card can be used to avail of many of the services available in Grangegorman library.

To borrow books from the library you will need to present your student card at the issue desk. For details regarding borrowing entitlements click here

Also, to borrow the library laptops you will need to bring your student card to the desk and a laptop will be issued to you on a 3 hour loan.

Photocopying and Printing

Students automatically have an account with Datapac, our printing and photocopying provider. You use your student card to access this account and credit it with funds. Find out more

Exchange for items held at the issue desk

Occasionally academic staff members will leave 'in demand' books at the issue desk for reference only. This is to allow all students a greater opportunity to view these books. You will need to leave your student card at the desk while you view such items in the library.

Similarly, you can also obtain copies of past exam papers, and programme documents for the various courses taught at Grangegorman. Headphones and remote controls are also available to allow you to view audio-visual materials on site.
