Irish Research Council Awards for School of Languages, Law and Social Sciences

Three members of the School of Languages, Law and Social Sciences have been awarded 'New Foundations' grants by the Irish Research Council. Dr. Mairéad Seymour received an award for research on the compliance of offenders with community supervision, Colette Barry, PhD student, received an award for 'Talking about Prison Work', which will support dissemination of her research on the experiences of the deaths of prisoners amongst prison officers. Colette's award will also support knowledge exchange with early career researchers and the Irish Prison Service, under the mentorship of Dr. Mary Rogan. Dr. Mary Rogan also received an 'Engaging Civic Society' award for work with the Public Interest Law Alliance and Prof. Ivana Bacik of Trinity College, Dublin, for the project 'Changing Ireland, Changing Law'.
