Dublin eLearning Summer SchoolDRHEA 2012 "Bridging the Gap"

18-22 June 2012, DIT Aungier Street

Summer School 2012 again provided a great opportunity for staff from across Dublin's third-level sector to meet with like-minded peers in an informal but informative setting.

Almost 50 staff drawn from the eight member institutions of the Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance (DRHEA) attended, with approximately six attendees from each institution.

This year, for the first time, participants had the option to attend the summer school for accreditation, earning 5 ECTS credits (level 9) through attendance at the school and meeting additional assignment and assessment requirements. These credits can contribute towards further higher qualifications across the DRHEA, including DIT’s ‘Diploma in Learning & Teaching’, ‘MA in Higher Education’, and ‘MSc in Applied eLearning’.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the week: participants, facilitators and the staff of DIT Aungier Street (especially the porters and library staff). In particular we would like to thank the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Andrew Montague, for opening this year's event, in conjunction with Professor Brian Norton, President of DIT (pictured above with Dr. Kevin O'Rourke, DIT Head of eLearning Support and Development).
