Echo 360 is a lecture capture software system which is available on a pilot basis in DIT from 1st March 2012. The trial will be available on podium PCs and for download to your laptop from the LTTC and local technicians.
For this pilot two lecture theatres have been equipped with Echo360. These can be used to record your live lecture. Alternatively you can record directly to your laptop from any location. Echo360 captures the lecture by recording audio, screen activity and video. These elements are then synchronised and posted to a specified course in webcourses.dit.ie as a multimedia presentation. Students can then review the presentation when it is streamed from a media server which ensures fast playback whether they are on or off-campus.
