Delivering Effective Webinars - online workshop
Overview
Webinars enable you to present a lecture or seminar via the web from your desktop, allowing students to interact with you and with each other from their computers. This online session will allow you to experience a webinar from your desktop and outline some of the techniques used to run effective webinars.
This technology, Blackboard Collaborate, is available free-to-use to DIT staff (with some limitations).
Learning outcomes
At the end of this online seminar you will be able to:
- outline the difference between a face-to-face lecture and a webinar
- list five characteristics of effective webinars
- appreciate the importance of e-moderating
Who is this workshop suitable for?
Any lecturer who is interested in implementing webinars with their students. This may include, but is not confined to, those who teach part-time or distance-based modules.

Any pre-requisites / advance preparation required?
You will need a PC/Mac with internet connection and a headset with microphone.
