Aerospace Engineering

The Department of Transport Engineering provides many and varied courses to suit the requirements of the Irish Aerospace industry, from aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul apprenticeships to Private Aircraft Pilot’s licenses. Through close coalition with the Federation of Aerospace Enterprises in Ireland, the new Joint Aviation Regulation requirements, and listening closely to the needs of the Irish aviation industry in general, new courses are continually being developed to suit the growth in this industry. Here at the Dublin Institute of Technology we endeavour to be at the forefront of technological breakthroughs, with new aircraft types and systems. Our courses are not only taught on-campus at DIT, but also at remote locations within companies such as Pratt & Whitney Airmotive / Lufthansa Airmotive Ireland amongst others, tailoring syllabus content to suit company specific requirements.
