Vehicle Body Repair Courses

 

 

The Department of Transport Engineering has a long history of providing Vehicle Body Repair courses for the Irish Motor Industry. The department has excellent vehicle body repair and refinishing facilities. A range of modern chassis repair benches equipped with computerised measuring equipment utilising ultrasonic laser technology ensures that all students are familiar with the technology currently being used in the Body Repair Industry.


Refinishing of vehicles
is now an integral part of the training given to apprentices. To facilitate this the college has invested in the latest paint-spraying booth, preparation bay and mixing station all equipped with a latest extraction system.

 

 


The Dublin Institute of Technology
is the only center in the country currently offering phase 4 and phase 6 apprentice courses in vehicle body repair.Our Vehicle Body Repair section also provides a variety of training courses directly to Irish Motor Industry. Service courses can be provided and tailored to suit the needs of Distributors, Dealerships, Body-shops, or Individuals. The workshop and classrooms can also be hired for external training.

Award:

National Craft Certificate in Vehicle Body Repair.

Institute of Motor Industry certificate/ Diploma in Management

Careers opportunities in Vehicle Body Repair Sector:

Many career opportunities available to the student who have completed their apprentiship in Body Repair and availed of the many extra courses run by the DIT. This included positions as:

  • Body Shop Supervisors.

 

  • Body Shop Managers.

 

  • Technical Advisers.

 

  • Insurance assessors.

 

  • Accident Investigators.
