This is achieved by providing a rich and diverse student experience and through the effective use of resources in responding to the needs of patients and students while maintaining the highest standard of expertise, supporting collaboration and research, and integrating technology."


The National Optometry Centre (NOC) is part of the Department of Optometry in the College of Sciences and Health, Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street, Dublin 8.  It is a purpose built state-of-the-art centre for the advanced training of optometry students and is the only such facility of its kind in the country.  We serve as a national resource for the entire community of eye care professionals in Ireland.

The main function of the NOC is to facilitate clinical training for DIT Optometry students. The Centre offers eye examinations, spectacles and contact lenses to the general public as well as developing speciliased clinics in areas suach as paediatrics, low vision and contact lenses.

The Centre is open all year round with a core staff of full-time optometrists and a dispensing optician.

Opening Hours

Normal hours resume from Monday 8th January

Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm
Friday 9am - 4pm
