Postgraduate Researcher
Brief Biography
I have attained my Bachelors degree (2003) from Osmania University, India with Microbiology, Chemistry and Computer application as major subjects. I have accomplished my Masters degree in Biochemistry (2005) from Osmania University, India. I completed the prestigious European Masters degree in Molecular Biology (June 2007) from University of Skovde, Sweden. I worked on a summer project at University of Murcia, Spain on “Cloning and amplification of dicer-2 gene”. As a part of my Masters thesis, I have got an opportunity to work in the area of “Multi-drug resistance in cancer” and also with non-apoptotic cell death pathways induced by two newly synthesized Topo II inhibitors at The Institute of Pathology, Berlin, Germany. Preliminary data from my Masters thesis work was presented at 6th AFMC International Medical Chemistry symposium (July 8-11, 2007, Istanbul, Turkey) “Antineoplastic activity of heterocyclic compounds in multidrug-resistant cancer cells”, Drug fut. 2007, 32 (suppl A), 27-28. After the completion of my Masters thesis project I worked in the same laboratory as a Research Assistant (July 2007 to September 2008) on “Conformation of protein level in YB-1 shRNA transfected cells”.
Research Interests
In, October, 2008, commenced a PhD in the FOCAS Institute on “Investigation of Bystander signaling using live cell fluorescence imaging”. This project includes methods like cell culture, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and confocal microscopy.
