DIT Lecturer elected President of ISSTE

The members of the International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators (ISTTE) have elected Dr. Dominic Dillane from Dublin Institute of Technology to be its 12th President at the recent ISTTE conference held in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Dillane, who served as Vice-President of the Society for the past two years, is the first European member to be elected President of the Society. A member of the academic staff of the Faculty of Tourism and Food in DIT, Dr. Dillane is a statistician and lectures in the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism.
ISTTE is a nonprofit international organization dedicated to improving the quality of education and research in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries by promoting the exchange of information, ideas, and outstanding service to its members. Current membership is represented by travel and tourism educators in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, China, Taiwan, Great Britain, Ireland, and the Netherlands. ISTTE prides itself on the diverse qualifications of its members who represent varied education and industry sectors such as Business Administration, Economics, Gaming Management, Geography, Hospitality Administration, Travel/Tourism Industry, Leisure Study, Marketing, Meetings & Conventions, and the Sociology of Tourism.
