First BWG Graduates of CPD Diploma in Retail Management
20th May 2010
The first ever conferring ceremony took place at Aungier Street campus earlier this month of graduates of the BWG CPD Diploma in Retail Management. This industry-led programme was designed to incorporate the needs of a changing market place and the theoretical framework informing current business practice in the retail Convenience Store environment. The two year part-time programme was designed, in consultation with BWG Foods, and delivered by a course team from DIT School of Retail & Services Management. It followed a process of consultation between the School and BWG Foods Ltd., owners of the SPAR franchise in Ireland, and also Ireland’s largest chain of retail food stores operating under the SPAR, EUROSPAR, MACE and XL brands. Students participating on the programme work with the various franchisees of the BWG retail brands or as Retail Operations Assistants for BWG Foods in supporting the franchisees.
