DIT hosts 29th Chem Ed Ireland conference

The School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in DIT is hosting the 29th Chem Ed Ireland Conference on Saturday 9th October at Kevin Street.  The conference is primarily for secondary school teachers teaching chemistry and science educators.  Keynote speakers include Dr Jane Essex, University of Keele and Dr Tim Desmond, Chief Examiner for Chemistry, State Examinations Commission.  As part of the conference programme, the DIT Learning Teaching and Technology Centre will run workshops on various aspects of education, and the School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences will host context-based laboratory workshops on topics aligned with School programmes – eg,  Environmental Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry and Nanochemistry.
