Britain’s Got Talent Judges predict a great future for DIT Student O’Shaughnessy

14th May 2012: DIT Music student Ryan O’Shaughnessy wowed audiences and won the hearts of millions of viewers in the Britain’s Got Talent live final on Saturday night.  Ryan may have been pipped to the post in the final by Ashley and her dancing dog Pudsey, but despite losing out Ryan has been branded a huge star with a bright future.

The 19 year old singer-songwriter from Loughshinny in north Co Dublin was among the bookies favourite to win after topping the voting in the semi final on Thursday.  The talented DIT Student won over the hearts of the UK and Ireland and secured the most votes after performing a love song dedicated to his friend.

BGT judge Simon Cowell said: "I think you are a brilliant songwriter and I also think you are a brilliant singer”.

The DIT music student, who joined the Billie Barry stage school at four, played the part of Mark Halpin in Fair City for nine years before leaving to join boy band Mission 4.  He also recently showcased his talent on The Voice of Ireland after getting through blind auditions and making it on to Brian Kennedy’s team.
