DIT eLearning Day 2005 - Expanding the Campus
DIT eLearning Day 2005 will be held on Thursday 15th December in the Focas Institute in DIT Kevin Street.
The day will start with the launch of the 'Quest for Learning' website by Síle de Valera, TD, Minister of State in the Department of Education and Science. AHEAD (the Association for Higher Education Access and Disability) has worked with DIT and other institutions in Ireland and across Europe to develop a range of on-line resources related to learning and employability, for people with disabilities. This launch will be viewable online through by clicking here.

The programme for the day promises an interesting mix of demonstrations and presentations, with case studies from DIT lecturers in the afternoon and also the opportunity to hear DIT students talk about how eLearning is impacting on their learning experience.
The demonstration session, "Gizmos & Gadgets", will showcase the array of technology now available to all DIT staff, with tools such as Studymate, Impatica, HorizonWimba voicetools and others explained and contextualised.
We'll have some laptops on hand throughout the day so you can try out WebCT and other tools yourself!
Learning Technology Team staff will also be available to chat informally about getting started with e-Learning so if you've been thinking about enhancing your face-to-face teaching with online resources, or would like to investigate delivering CPD courses online, please drop in.
The DIT eLearning Day is open to both DIT Staff and externals. There is no charge for attendance but places are limited so please register early!
