Third lecture in HP/ DIT Construction Innovation Forum Series, presented by HP's own Senior Consultant, Brendan McKeefry -

Lecture title 'Market Trends on Intelligent Buildings ' -

Brendan McKeefry, Senior Consultant for HP will give the third lecture in the Hewlett Packard/ DIT Construction Innovation Forum Lecture Series. Mr. McKeefry is an expert in adaptive network solutions, focusing on IP telephony and IPCC. The lecture will discuss market trends on intelligent buildings and it will take place at 6:30pm on Thursday the 22nd February in the Kinema Lecture Theatre, DIT Bolton Street, Dublin 1.

This is the third lecture in the series, which brings together leading guest lecturers from the construction industry, along with architects, construction managers and engineers and DIT faculty members to provide informed and lively debate on issues faced by the sector. So far the series has been very well received by company delegates and DIT faculty members. Raymond Turner, Department of Construction Management and Technology, in the DIT Faculty of the Built Environment said, 'The Series is going exceptionally well, and the feedback we have received from industry leaders and academic staff has been extremely positive. Those who attend the lectures gain invaluable insight from a range of experts, extending their knowledge and understanding of the important topics currently effecting the construction industry.'

The series will continue throughout 2007 and will cover topics such as competition from new accession members to the EU, the cultural diversity of the construction industry workforce, the slow down of private construction, new regulations in the workplace such as health and safety, and sustainable energy technologies. The Department of Construction Management and Technology, based in the Bolton Street Campus of DIT, is part of the School of Construction along with the Department of Construction Skills. The Department currently provides a range of programmes of study in construction technology. It has many links with industry and prides itself on its industry relevant programmes.
