"Higher Education in the 21st century: Diversity of Missions"
DIT will host a high-profile conference in June 2007 on the topic of the changing face of higher education and institutions of higher education worldwide. International sponsors of the conference are the OECD Programme on Institutional Management in Higher Education (IMHE) the International Association of Universities (IAU) and locally it is supported by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and by the Irish Universities Association (IUA).
According to the conference programme, "Sessions will focus on questions of how the diversity of institutions is valued (or not) by governments, funding agencies and society." The range of high-profile speakers will represent experience drawn from Ireland, Britain, Australia, Malaysia, USA, South Africa, Finland, Netherlands and Ethiopia.
