POETRY READING
The School of Languages will host a reading by NEVFEL CUMART of
JENSEITS DER WORTE / BEYOND WORDS
on Thursday 26 April, at 7pm in DIT Aungier St (Room TBA).
NEVFEL CUMART is one of Germany's most distinguished contemporary poets. He is a leading figure of the very productive and significant new wave of German writers of Turkish background. His readings in Germany and elsewhere have earned him a distinguished reputation as an interpreter of wandering "zwischen den Welten/ between worlds", between Europe and the Middle East. In DIT he will read from his latest work
JENSEITS DER WORTE/ BEYOND WORDS
which has also been translated into English by Eoin Bourke, Professor Emeritus of German in NUIG. Eoin Bourke will read from his translation on the evening.
This will be followed by a short discussion in German and English.
