The International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators Annual Conference

The International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators, an international organisation of industry professionals in travel, tourism and related fields, is holding its annual conference in Dublin from September 30 – October 2 2008 entitled: The Future Success of Tourism: New Directions, Challenges and Opportunities.

As part of this prestiguous international conference, a one day workshop 'Tourism and the Environment - Climate Change, Future Trends' will be held on Wednesday, 1st October at Clontarf Castle Hotel. This workshop will explore the key environmental challenges and issues facing the tourism sector at present, show case industry best practice and identify the role the education sector can play in addressing these challenges and issues. 

 Dr Dominic Dillane from the DIT School of Hospitality Management and Tourism will Chair the conference. Speakers at this event include Dr Paul Epstein, Harvard University and Dr Rowan Fealy, NUI Maynooth, who will address the issue of climate change in the context of international and domestic tourism.
