Hoffnung concert for Hallowe'en in the Theatre, DIT Rathmines

Gerard Hoffnung, German-born artist, humorist and musician, founded Hoffnung Music Festivals at which witty musical parodies were performed.

On Thursday 30th October, at 6.30pm, music students from DIT's Conservatory of Music and Drama will present a Hoffnung Concert for Hallowe'en. You can laugh your way through nursery rhymes, with apologies to Handel, Mozart and Rossini, and snippets for "Ladies Only"; while in the Conservatory's first performance of the "HORRORTORIO" by Joseph Horovitz, you can meet Dracula and Frankenstein et al. in Oratorio form, recounting events too horrific to be staged!!!! This work had it's first performance at the Royal Festival Hall in London on 28th November 1961.

The concert takes place in The Theatre in DIT Rathmines and is open to all. Bring your friends and enjoy the fun - if you dare!
