Death of Harry Purdue, School of Media, DIT

The tragic death has occurred this week of a young colleague, Harry Purdue, a lecturer in film production in the School of Media in DIT.

Harry Purdue was a gifted cinematographer, film maker and a key figure on the MA in Film Production. He was a graduate of the Advanced Diploma in Communications in 1991, and was well known for his work as a freelance cameraman on numerous television and film projects in Ireland.

Harry was an inspirational teacher of camera and lighting and made an enormous impact on the many students he taught in DIT. He will be deeply missed by his friends, students, and colleagues. His funeral will take place on Saturday 18 January at 10am at the church of Our Lady of Refuge, Rathmines Road, Dublin 6.
