DIT Lecturer publishes book on Entrepreneurship

DIT lecturer Thomas Cooney has published a new book on entrepreneurship, aimed at undergraduate entrepreneurship programmes.

Entitled 'New Venture Creation in Ireland', it is designed to provide fundamental questions - and answers - that must be considered when establishing a business, and it breaks down the elements of business planning through its different chapters.

Each chapter gives a practical guide to the issues to be addressed and explains where further information can be ascertained through appropriate websites etc. By reviewing the literature on many of the elements, a contextual background is offered to explain how that topic has developed through the years. Subject authors include people who are expert in their specialist areas, both academics and practitioners, and this is reflected in the publication's very useful mix of theory and practice.

Published by Oak Tree Press, the book is edited by Thomas M. Cooney (DIT) and Shane Hill (DKIT). Academic contributors include Naomi Birdthistle (UL), Declan Fleming (NUI Galway), Anthony Foley (DCU), Briga Hynes (UL), Pauric McGowan (UU), Bill O'Gorman (NUI Cork), and Colm O'Gorman (NUI Dublin).
