A night at the opera

DIT's Conservatory of Music and Drama will once again present 'A night at the Opera' in the National Concert Hall on Tuesday February 24. This year the programme will delight all music lovers, with excerpts from Mozart's 'Marriage of Figaro, Verdi's 'La Traviata' and 'Rigoletto', and Puccini's 'La Boheme'. The soloists, chorus and orchestra will be drawn from the students of the Conservatory, and the conductors will be Willy Halpin and Roy Holmes.

Dr. Ellen Hazelkorn, Dean of DIT's Faculty of Applied Arts, said the production involves staff of the Conservatory and students at all levels. "The evening is a great opportunity for the Conservatory to showcase its range and depth of talent, and for audiences it is a chance to hear some of Ireland's exciting emerging performers."

Tickets (€12 - concessions €8) for 'A Night At the Opera' can be booked directly through the National Concert Hall Booking Office - tel 01 417 0000 and www.nch.ie.
