DIT research student helps increase 'Scope' of children's understanding of science and engineering

Research student Fiona Coyle, from the Centre for Industrial and Engineering Optics (IEO), helped further thousands of children's understanding of science matters on Tuesday last (20th January) when she appeared on 'Scope', an RTE TV programme designed to create interest in science and engineering among young people in Ireland.

She was invited by the show to discuss her project entitled 'Digital Close Range Photogrammetry in Low Velocity Motor Vehicle Accident Reconstruction', which aims to develop a fast and accurate method of measuring the depth of damage caused to a vehicle during a low speed collision.
