DIT take US Handball Collegiates Team Title

Dublin Institute of Technology Handball Club are the toast of Irish Third Level Handball after they captured the Men's Team title at the US Handball Collegiates which took place last weekend in Springfield, Missouri.Spearheaded by the performance of Dessie Keegan, DIT became the first non-US college to pick up the Men's Team title. Keegan was narrowly beaten in the final of the Men's Open Singles by Emmett Peixoto from California 21-20, 19-21, 11-7. Despite DIT not winning any singles title they still had enough high placed players in the Men's Open, Men's A and Men's B Singles divisions to bring the Team title home to Ireland.Noel McHugh and Joe McCann from Sligo IT took the Men's Open Doubles title while Padraig Cahill and Conor McGinnity from DIT took the Men's B Doubles title.Well done to all the 21 Irish players who travelled to Missouri tocompete.
