DIT artist in major Los Angeles exhibition

Patrick Graham, artist and lecturer in the Department of Fine Art, is one of the artists included in a major exhibition that has just opened in Los Angeles, entitled ?Art of Engagement?.  The exhibition is described as ?an ambitious historical survey of artistic expression in contemporary and modern art inspired by social and political issues.?  It addresses a range of subjects from racial issues to free speech and includes images of wars of the 20th century up to today.  It has been mounted to coincide with the publication of a book by the Founding Director of the Berkeley Art Museum and renowned curator, Peter Selz.  The book is entitled ?Art of Engagement: Visual Politics in California and Beyond?.

For Patrick Graham it is obviously a great honour to have his work chosen for an exhibition that includes iconic artists such as Picasso, Christo and Jean-Claude, Andy Warhol and many others.  The Exhibition opened on November 11 and runs until January 31 in the Jack Rutberg Fine Arts gallery, Los Angeles.
