Congratulations to David Cramp, David Kehoe, Nick Lennon and Ronan Murphy ? all students on  the BSc. Business Studies programme in DIT?s Business Faculty ? who won first prize in the recent ACCA Undergraduate Business Challenge, beating teams from Dublin Business School, Griffith College, Institute of Technology Tallaght (ITT) and University College Dublin who were runners up.

The Challenge focussed on the regeneration of a fictional Dublin town, Ballybrocky and teams were encouraged to use their business skills and to demonstrate planning and entrepreneurial acumen. Their task was to develop the most viable financial and economic solution to benefit all sectors of the ?Ballybrocky? community.  The students had to set criteria and justify the costs of each of the proposed regeneration solutions, which included an environmental housing project, a shopping centre and a children's play area.

Commenting on the presentations, Frank O?Brien, ACCA Ireland President said: "I was extremely impressed by the high standard of all those competing - while the majority are business students, a variety of invaluable skills including leadership, foresight and communications were very much in evidence.?

The winners were presented with travel vouchers worth €1,000.
