DIT's Music Technology Centre presents new music event - 'Sound dig out'

Shigeto Wada, at the Music Technology Centre in DIT's Conservatory of Music and Drama, is launching an exciting new concert series, starting with the first event on Friday 28 January.  The series will focus on exciting new and wide-ranging styles of music and other artistic activities. All are welcome to attend - the details of the first event are as follows:

Friday 28 January:13.00    IMPROVISATION (concert)
Venue   McCann Hall, DIT Chatham Row, Dublin 2
Fee       Free

Philip Archer (UEA UK), Andre Bosman (UK), Shigeto Wada (DIT MTC) in free improvisation using so called 'self-designed' instruments. Aisling Seery (Conservatory of Music and Drama, DIT) will play recorder with 'fpeak' by Shigeto Wada. Laura Cannel (UEA UK) will perform recorder with Liam Wells. Liam Wells (n0media, UK) will produce real-time mix of visual images for all.

14.00    IMPROVISATION (concert)
Venue  McCann Hall, DIT Chatham Row, Dublin 2
Fee       Free

Performers will make presentations about their creative activity and/or research.

21.00    IMPROVISATION (gig) + DJ
Venue  Mischief Night Club,South William Street, Dublin 2
Fee       5 euro on the door

Thanks to Mischief Night Club, 4 will show their nocturnal activities. KID ATOM, Foofus, kidtractor, and Shigeto present another possibility of their music - visual performance with instruments.

After the performance, the performers will play their favourite music till late!  All are welcome so come along and experience something new!
